About TMCC Leadership
Leadership class at TMCC High School meets formally twice a week, on Monday and Wednesday from 11:00-12:20 p.m. Students fulfill requirements of the class through activities out in the community. This includes visiting middle schools to tell prospective students about TMCC High School, and business networking.
Student leaders, known as student ambassadors, are the face of the school to the community, giving formal presentations to professional and parent groups and serving on community committees that need the perspective of young people. Ambassadors assist in hosting events on the college campus, both for TMCC and the high school, and they also lead student assemblies at TMCC High School.
There is an application process for all students interested in Leadership. Students are required to serve on one of three sub-committees: Community Service, Media/Marketing, or Future Business Leaders of America school chapter officers. Leadership is a year-long course with leadership training including public speaking and attendance at school/community events, middle school career days and parent nights. Students have the option of enrolling for only one semester. Each semester is .5 credit.
