How To Apply

We’ve refined our enrollment process into six easy steps.

Coming this fall!

TMCC and WCSD are pleased to announce a fall 2016 expansion of TMCC High School to include a new Technical Pathways program for students interested in careers in technical fields. Watch the video for our new Techincal Pathway. Students will have two great choices at TMCC High School: Technical Pathways option at Edison or Degree Pathway at Dandini. Students will have the opportunity to graduate from TMCC High School with both a high school diploma AND a TMCC Certificate of Achievement or Associates Degree. Northern Nevada’s job opportunities are rapidly growing. The Technical Pathways Option will provide mature, motivated students with the opportunity to earn a skills certificate that may lead to immediate employment. In addition, students will have the opportunity to earn up to 30 credits of college instruction, giving them a jump start on college. Student applications will be available in November or contact us for more information. Thanks for choosing TMCC High School.

Applications for Technical Pathway accepted through April 11, 2016!

Step 1

Step 1: Acquire

Acquire a High School Admission Application

You can download an enrollment application here, or get one from TMCC High School by calling TMCC High School at 775-674-7660 to have one mailed, or by picking one up at the TMCC High School office.

Step 2

Step 2: Send/Submit

Send/Submit the Completed Application

The completed application can be mailed or brought to the TMCC High School office at the Dandini Campus (Red Mountain 315). The completed application must have all parent/student signatures, unofficial transcript, attendance record for the current school year, and teacher/counselor recommendations. The teacher/counselor recommendations can be mailed via inter-school mail by the teacher/counselor. The process to accept or deny the application can take up to two weeks. The more complete the information we have, the less time it takes to process an application.

Step 3

Step 3: Processing

Processing Your Application

We will contact you after reviewing your application. We may ask for additional information in the areas academics, attendance, and/or discipline to assist you in securing admission, or we may deny your application. Acceptance will be contingent upon you taking the Accuplacer and scoring at a minimum level of English 98 and Math 95.

Step 4

Step 4: TMCC Admission

Apply for Admission to TMCC

When you have been conditionally accepted to TMCC High School, complete a TMCC Application for Admission and view important dates and deadlines. If you have questions, contact the TMCC Admissions and Records office. Once the college has processed your application you will receive instructions from them on taking the Accuplacer. Do not follow any other college steps for enrollment, instead bring your Accuplacer report to the TMCC High School office.

Step 5

Step 5: Acceptance

Admission Acceptance

If you meet or exceed the minimum levels of English and math we will process your application and formally accept you. We email orientation/registration information. The orientation/registration information will contain the dates, time, and place for orientation and registration as well as registration instructions.

Step 6

Step 6: Orientation

Orientation

Orientation is held separately from registration and is mandatory for students and parents. Your admission to TMCC High School will not be finalized if you have not attended orientation and registration.

Welcome to TMCC High School

A partnership between Washoe County School District and Truckee Meadows Community College, TMCC High School is an early college high school on a college campus.  TMCC High School offers two options for motivated, academically-prepared students.  At the Dandini campus, degree-seeking 10th, 11th and 12th grade students work toward an Associate’s degree while earning a high school diploma.  In fall 2016, a new Technical Pathways option on the Edison campus will begin with a cohort of fifty 11th grade students working toward a Skills Certificate or a Certificate of Achievement in manufacturing, welding, production technology, automotive, etc.  At both locations, students are dual enrolled in college courses, in addition to high school classes.  The dual enrollment opportunity allows students to earn either an Associate’s degree or a technical Certificate upon high school graduation or within one semester afterward.
