Our Belief Statements

We believe:

  • A community college provides an ideal environment for motivated students to complete high school in a mature setting with expectations for academic and civic growth.
  • Creative, critical and solution-oriented thinking results from a learning community that fosters high expectations for achievement, especially where the educators model and demonstrate expectations for higher-level thinking.
  • The success of each student is positively influenced by a commitment to communication and collaboration among administration, staff, students, parents, the college and the community at large.
  • The mission of the school and the Accreditation goals align with the Washoe County School District Strategic Plan. We, as a learning community, are committed to “college and career readiness” for all our students.

The mission statement was developed collaboratively among staff and a parent representative by reviewing the school’s purpose and definition included in the school’s description in the 10th grade expansion plan.

Welcome to TMCC High School

A partnership between Washoe County School District and Truckee Meadows Community College, TMCC High School is an early college high school on a college campus.  TMCC High School offers two options for motivated, academically-prepared students.  At the Dandini campus, degree-seeking 10th, 11th and 12th grade students work toward an Associate’s degree while earning a high school diploma.  In fall 2016, a new Technical Pathways option on the Edison campus will begin with a cohort of fifty 11th grade students working toward a Skills Certificate or a Certificate of Achievement in manufacturing, welding, production technology, automotive, etc.  At both locations, students are dual enrolled in college courses, in addition to high school classes.  The dual enrollment opportunity allows students to earn either an Associate’s degree or a technical Certificate upon high school graduation or within one semester afterward.
